Burlington Studio of Electrolysis

Michelle O'Brien, LE, CPE
Leslie Quinn, LE, CPE

Michelle purchased the Burlington Studio of Electrolysis in 2000 and expanded the business in 2006 when Leslie joined the practice. Michelle and Leslie have great passion for their profession and take pride in helping their clients improve self-image and esteem.

The Burlington Studio of Electrolysis is possibly the only office in the country that has two Gold Probe Award winners! The Gold Probe Award is a prestigious award given to an electrologist exhibiting a strong dedication to the profession on both a state and national level through volunteerism. Michelle and Leslie are both recipients of it- Michelle in 2008 and Leslie in 2010.

We are the first electrologists in Vermont to utilize the newest technology for permanent hair removal on the market- the Apilus 27.12 MHz xCell Pure epilator.  This is by far the most comfortable epilator a client can experience! The skin also heals faster as well with this machine. Come and experience the difference for yourself!  We felt the Apilus Platinmum Pure was a wonderful machine, but the xCell Pure is even better.  The feedback from our clients who had experienced both machines is the xCell Pure is a more comfortable experience.

We are members of the American Electrology Association (AEA), our national organization, as well as the Association of Vermont Electrologists (AVE), our state affiliate of the AEA.

The state of Vermont does require all electrologists to be licensed in order to practice but does not require one to become a Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE). However, we believe in achieving the highest level of education and have therefore obtained the CPE credential because it is important for our clients to know that we have achieved the highest level of education possible in the field of electrology.

Our devotion to our clients, our commitment to our associations, our achievements in obtaining and maintaining our CPE credential and our passion for the profession all make us experts in the field of electrology!

Michelle O'Brien - Electrologist

About Michelle O'Brien, LE, CPE

Michelle graduated from the University of Vermont in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Unable to find full-time work in Vermont at that time as a therapist, Michelle headed down a different career path after an electrologist friend, Sandy, suggested Michelle purchase Sandy's business because Sandy wished to retire. Michelle decided to take the plunge and pursue a new career as an electrologist and has never looked back. Michelle graduated from the Electrology Institute of New England in Tewksbury, MA, in December of 1999, and in January of 2000, Michelle purchased the Burlington Studio of Electrolysis from Sandy Smith. Michelle practiced both electrolysis and physical therapy for many years until 2008 when she decided to "retire" from physical therapy. Michelle has chosen to keep her PT license active despite no longer working in that profession.

Michelle served as 3rd Vice President of the American Electrology Association (AEA) from 2008 to 2013 and managed the AEA's continuing education database from 2007-2016. Michelle has served on the board of the Association of Vermont Electrologists (AVE) as both President (2007-2011) and Secretary (2011-2015). In 2008, Michelle was the proud recipient of the Gold Probe Award.

Leslie Cody - Electrologist

About Leslie Quinn, LE, CPE

Leslie graduated magna cum laude from Trinity College in 1999 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. After college, Leslie chose to start a family and forgo the extra time and energy it would take to pursue her psychology education further. A few years later, an opportunity to purchase a local electrolysis business was presented to her. Instead of buying this practice, she opted to join Michelle and grow the Burlington Studio of Electrolysis. This partnership became so much more than just a business relationship as they have become great friends as well.

Volunteering and education are important to Leslie and this is why she quickly became involved on both a national and local level pertaining to the field of electrolysis. Over the years, she has been the Secretary on the board of the AVE (2007-2011) and is as President of this association (2011-2015). She has also served as New Membership Chair for the AEA and as a delegate to its board. Due to her volunteerism in the field of electrology, Leslie was honored with the Gold Probe Award in 2010.

Nerium International

Leslie is proud to share her success since joining the Nerium International family. She became involved with this company in May of 2013 and in less than two months earned an I-Pad and a Lexus car monthly bonus. She has been a leader in this industry and is excited about the continued growth she experiences on both a personal and professional level. Further, she can say that with the REAL results NeriumAD provides, her skin has never felt and looked healthier and people say she looks years younger. Now who wouldn't want that? Visit her Nerium website to learn more. Contact Leslie today to find out how you can not only look better but live a better life too!

Gently exfoliating your skin before your treatment opens up the follicles and lets the unwanted hair slide out more easily.

Electrolysis Tip

For a more comfortable treatment, avoid caffeine for a few hours before your appointment.

Electrolysis Tip

It's okay to shave between treatments, but never, ever tweeze!

Never tweeze between treatments.

Electrolysis Tip

HydrateHydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Drinking plenty of water helps unwanted hair slide right out.

Did you know?

The hair you see is not all the hair you have. Hair grows in cycles. That's why it takes more than one appointment to permanently clear an area.

Electrolysis Tip
